    Re: Today's Training

Cut my planned 2nd half FTOP recce short. Calves kept seizing up. Mind you, this is me first week back after a couple of weeks of nothing, and even then it's been a while since I've ran 5 times in 7 days. Think it might have been too much too soon.

Anyway, followed Ogden Clough round to the slabs, headed up these to the trig, down the trod below the walkers' path, up the cart path, down to the bottom of the banking of the upper res, sprint up the banking, along the path (parallel to the road) to the lower res, up through Fell Wood, down to the banking of the lower res, another hill sprint, and back along the road to the car park.

7.14mi in hour and a half. Beautifully clear all the way round, until I was stretching off when it started drizzling. Priceless timing.

Sounds like a decent route SS!

Just back from my extended Stretton Skyline loop around 22 miles in 3.40, very nice weather, just the right temp, around 8-10 degrees, with the sun out! Very happy to be running in t-shirt and shorts at this time of year hehe.

    Bath now!

I was quite tempted to join you this morning SS but I haven't run for 2 weeks since Arenig Fawr and I am still coughing up crap from last weekends cold! I went for a little 6 miler/1000' this morning instead and suffered big time so probably the right decision to duck

Nice one mate and excellent time as well I remember from last years race that steep climb up to Caradoc and The Lawley and that final not too steep, but seemingly endless climb up from the Gogbatch can be a killer right at the end of the route

Wife and daughter full of cold, sneezing and coughing so sneaked out for 9 miles 1500ft so get some fresh air.

Autumn is definitely here, cold, damp and Breezy(almost like being at home).

Rest tomorrow with a a sharp race on Monday.

Aye its a corker of a route! I love that climb up from the railway crossing to the top of Pole Bank, can run it all Yeah those steep climbs come in handy for training!

Am just glad its not too far from base, means I can get one run in a week!

Did pretty much the same route yesterday as a nice relaxing walk with the missus and the dog. Very pleasant.
