    Re: Snow??

I measured it on top of my car earlier today. It was 10 inches!! It's since put down another inch or so.

I also got a chance to test out my tyre socks. They seemed to work pretty well. Mrs Noel got some winter tyres instead - they work well too.

We just need to school to be open now. It's no use being all mobile when I'm stuck at home with the kids.

It's been snowing in Scotland and the North East for over a week. One snowflake in the South East and it's now headline news.

Getting the skis waxed up, so I can hit the Co-op's rapidly emptying shelves and corner the market in turnips and strong flour. Got 5 gallons of Imperial stout to bottle, so that should see us through till Christmas.

We're supposed to be camping this weekend in the Peak: Biggin to be precise, at the Backpackers Club Xmas party. What are our prospects of getting through to Biggin at the moment? Any local info would be useful. My normal route would be A54 from Congleton to Buxton, A515 towards Ashbourne, then minor road to Biggin. And how deep is the snow around there, and how shovelable? There'll be me and my 10-year-old daughter clearing a space in a field for our tent in the dark tomorrow evening...

Odd place to do it, but impressive in this cold!

Saw IDP's mates hamming it up for the TV. Just kidding, how's it going out there Ian?

Still nowt to write home about here in Stratford. Travelling home tonight, and by the sounds of it I just need to worry about Staffs, but even then M6 is s'posed to be reet.

A54 Congleton to Buxton may be tricky unless you have a 4x4. I think they have put road closed signs up for this bit. You might be better going South first and then coming up to it.
