    MP3 record players

Quite fancy one of these, don't know too much about them. But the idea of being able to download all my LP's (ask your mums Al, Scott and turbo Tom) onto the computer - such as Blood on the cats (Blood spattered vinyl good condition Richard A Thackery), Hep cat Hop etc is most appealing.

Anyone got one or have any thoughts, recommendations etc.

They're supposed to be ok but I haven't bothered getting one. You can't beat listening to a vinyl on good quality system. Just download any of the stuff you want and save yourself the cost of the turntable.

Got it somewhere (with 'The Blubbery Hell-Bellies' on it; 'Don't Wanna Be Thin')

Also got 'Hep Cat Hop', & 'Stack-A-Records' (great tracks by Restless on them)

The only problem I had with a USB turntable was that I forgot (d'oh!!) that they play in 'real-time', you 've no way of speeding it up.
So it takes the full length of an LP to record it, hence I've rarely used mine - to the point of it having cobwebs & dust on it

Been there, done that. I used my old turntable connected to a PC via a normal amplifier & a Creative PC sound card. I used free Audacity sofware to chop the LPs up into tracks & clean up the scratches etc. It's not an automatic process, no matter what hardware you use. Only you know what the tracks are - nothing will read the LP sleeve and type the track names in for you. All my hundreds of LPs, hundreds of cassettes, hundreds of 7 inch singles and hundreds of CDs are all on computer disk, which is great. I copy 32GB at a time to a memory stick to play on random in the car, and I've got a Sonos system to play them at home. Happy as a porcine in excreta. CDs are easy, but LPs take time, so you have to really want to do it. Worth it though in my view. I listen to loads of stuff I love and had forgotten I even had.

I'm trying to work out whether that's a bloke, or a female athlete from a 1980's Eastern Bloc country??

    Is it for sale then?

How little you know Mr R A I don't want to be thin is on "Revenge of the Killer Pussies" which is on pink spattered vinyl not red - honestly Plastics!

I have the others you mention but do you have original copy of the first Guana Batz recording a 4 track ep that includes "Rockin in my coffin" or a purple vinyl copy of Zulu Beat by King Kurt on Thin Slice records,or a bizarre shaped picture disc of a rat laying on a dustbin of Zulu beat, or a blue vinyl copy of Radioactive kid, or a picture disc single Johnny remember me by the Meteors and a copy their Clapham Escalators Ep or an original copy of Love plus one by Haircut one Hundred (??? how did that get in my singles box)

My daughter has one of those and I have been tempted but it would not really get the use, I just have a samsung mp3 player which is fine for listening to music whilst walking the dog, dancing in the office etc. Not heard from you in a while, you running at the mo?
