Great film wharfeeee!!
Even saw me running on it, albeit my rear view as I went past!!!
Hiya.
Been toying with the idea of actually doing this this year. Do you need any sort of navigational skills or is it fairly easy to follow?
Cheers.
Errmm...I don't want to sound un'elpful or owt like but the Stoop race is in 6 months.
Now unless there's some reason why you're only ganna get excited 'bout that race (p'raps you're bein' released from prison next December?) then you would benefit from doin' one or two fell races this summer.
I take it that you've not done much fellrunnin'?
ps..the Stoop route is quite easy to follow..if in doubt just follow the few 'undred runners that'll be doin' it!

I know that!
I'm just sorting out my racing calendar for the next few months.
Haven't been racing much this last year due to being slightly pregnant (was due yesterday) and so am getting giddy about getting out there again. (have been running - last one was Wednesday, boring towpath - Doesn't really count Zzzzzzz!! Just not racing or doing any sort of interesting running)
I have a number of races lined up between now and then, but like I said, just trying to be all organised.
You're right though. I haven't done all that many fell races. Most have been classed as trail or multi.
Local lass? Checkowt BOFRA...

Oooh. Looks interesting. Thanks.
Don't forget it's The Stoop this weekend.
All the usual Woodentops fun and only 5 miles of racing.

Be aware that if coming from Colne direction (through Stanbury etc) the right turn going past the reservoir (just outside Stanbury) is shut. You will need to go down the hill then back up the other side and take the first right back on yourself and go around Penistone Hill. This will only add a few minutes to your journey but the road can be very icy and slippy, especially if the forecast ice arrives!!
Just spoke to Dave Woodhead ...
There's quite a bit of snow on the course but the race is still on and current plans are to simplify the route - out to The Stoop summit and back.
It may be advised to park near the Old Sun Inn - hope to have some info on this later today when the loo delivery man has seen what the Penistone Hill car park is like.
