Oy! Just don't be tempted by their oat stuff - best go and feed them at the weekend!!!

I'm on salad and a few dry biscuits for cheese left over. No breakfast.

BUT a pending weekend with my folks means lots of meals and they're telling me I have to help them with all the chocolate they were given for Christmas

You can eat low fat Dairy products and the calcium in them helps you get rid of other fat in your digestive system as the calcium causes it to bind together and not get absorbed.

A good protein breakfast (weight for weight with any other breakfast) makes you less hungry at midday so you eat less.

You continue burning calories after exercise is completed while your body recovers.

One of SS smoothies better than eating the individual items as it takes longer to leave your stomach and your stomach doesn't shrink as quickly prompting the hunger pangs.
    Works for soups as well.

Interesting stuff, so SS is not a food fascist after all
I saw bits of it. 'twas indeed interesting stuff, but some of it was common sense. For instance, reducing the size of your plate means you'll be satisfied eating less. I wondered what that actress/comedian was on, thinking she could eat masses of food, but because it was healthy, it wouldn't count. Healthy grub's still got calories in! I also find it difficult to get my head round the fact that people nearly always underestimate their intake: I can remember everything that passes through my lips (even the odd picky/snacky stuff). Strange.

I don't know if it touched upon (or shattered my illusion of) the importance of eating first thing in the morning and 'grazing' regularly through the day? The idea that not eating first thing, and eating infrequently in big hits tricks the body into 'survival mode'; which means it metabolises slower and stores more in the way of fat. Because the body thinks there might not be food just around the corner.

As for my food fascism, I've been known to wander round the office and slap anyone eating a packet of crisps!

Fate has once more got between me and temptation. I went down to the canteen to get a fork (having left mine at home today), saw mince pies were only 20p, was about to pick one up when I realised I'd left my shrapnel in my bag upstairs. Disaster narrowly averted once more!

Someone is looking out for you SS :closed:
I have got some oatcakes, as apparently they are ok as an alternative snack. I think it is because they taste minging so I won't actually bother.

Hilarious! But wrong. Oatcakes are wicked. Especially with a load of yummy cheese...mmmm. You saw what Alf wrote about last night's programme: calcium helps stop fat being absorbed into the body. Go get yourself a chunk of stilton, or blacksticks blue, and watch the weight fall off!

Using this calorie calculator apparently I need at least 2,500 calories each day to maintain my current weight. An average pint of beer has 193 calories so, in conclusion, I'm good to go for 13 pints a day and cutting that to 7 will lead to swift weight loss

Melt some stilton on it (or Wensleydale and cranberry would go nice, I bet) and you're good to go. Washed down with Stolly's 7 pints!
