I'm aiming to gradually (probably very gradually) lose 18 pounds, so add 11 pounds to the aggregate unwanted tonnage.

On a positive note I went to circuits again last night and, unlike last week where the top half of my body seized up and I needed help putting on and taking off my jacket for 3 days, I coped pretty darn exceedingly well this time. I still went full on at it but the muscle ravaging of last week seems to have kick started my 'body beautiful' of old and I fully expect my six pack back any time now

I'm not trying to lose weight either, I have been gradually losing a bit purely as a by product of consistent training (and more recently being ill). I wouldn't want otherwise trim healthy people to begin obsessing about weight when there's enough of that goes on in the media these days anyway.

I don't think anyone is obsessing about their weight Rob, (or at least I hope they're not) and after all we're all fellrunners. By definition we're going to be amongst the fittest folk around and all bar the top two or three on the list are below thirteen stone, which is hardly unhealthily massive. It's just that a few of us want to lose a few pounds that's all

That was my point really, but I wasn't meaning to dig. Just seems odd to see people that aren't really that heavy trying to lose weight. I would have thought fellrunners would be the least likely people to worry about their weight that's all. I know my nearest and dearest have more concerns over my sanity than my weight

Also quite clear, in my case, that I am definitely heavier than this time last year and I can tell the difference carting those 3 bags of sugar up every dam hill I attempt to run up. So my goal is to lose that extra, unnecessary poundage. Having a public weigh in is a bit of fun, but it does help keep my snout of the biscuit barrel. But not obssessive, oh no, absolutely not (cat isn't either).

the 2 bits in bold are 2 completely different things

I'm not "worried" about my weight, I'm just going to lose some so as to help improve my running

Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot is 6'3" and weighs 11st - if he weighed 13st, I highly doubt he'd manage to clock a 2:07 marathon

I think BMI works reasonably well as to what is a healthy weight - i.e., over 25 is generally unhealthy. I know when I've strayed over 25, I have felt overweight.

Splitting hairs really, it was merely an observation. I'm not trying to pick a fight with anyone.

On a lighter note (groan) I refused cheesy chips last night after our head-torcher. I did drink beer but declining the cheesy chips is possibly my proudest moment in athletics
All I can say is, it's a good job I haven't added my name to the list or it would be a bit more than 15 stone collectively
