Dreadful for the family, but tough too on the organisers and marshals. My thoughts are with all.

Results have been amended after I looked at the marshals sheet for the short route people. Hope all ok now. Will pass on messages to Alan's partner, Diane.

Please pass my condolences on as well Alan. I'm about to set out for my own father's funeral today, & my thoughts will be with them as well as my own family.

Thanks for those kind words! Not sure what i would put the improvement down to, but certainly the fact that i wasnt carrying several kg's of flapjack may have contributed!
I suspect it was down to getting on the "KCAC Express" near the start....... It had an Engine Driver, two Stokers and a Gaurd and i just hung onto the Guardsvan until 15 miles.......at that point the coupling snapped, probably due to the excess baggage tagging along!..... from then on I just hung on the best I could.

    Well done Steve!
Hope you enjoyed it and didn't miss me too much
