I should think so as it's an LDWA event. Pop a running vest on him, nobody will know. I ran with Scooby Doo on the Chevin Chase.

I ran with my mutt t'other year and they gave him a certificate for 1st dog home, so yeah, they're dog friendly )

Hope yours is more sensible than mine, he just wanted to run with the leaders and hence, dragged me the whole way round. Not quite the unfair advantage you'd imagine it to be, never been so shattered!!

Fab! _ I'll get my entry in and take Blizzard along. I know exactly what you mean about being dragged along by the dog - I have Blizz attached to me via a waist belt so it makes running easier for me - the only problem is she CHARGES down the hills and trots up them so I get the help when I need it least!

    See you there!

Well! All that fuss about Garmins in races but assistance from dogs is OK? And suppose it was a whole team of huskies attached to your waist belt? Or a search dog trained to find the way round?? And if dogs, what about ponies? This could mean the end of fell racing as we know it.

He he! Alexandra - i'll bring some more along if you like!!! You can have one or two too! It's great fun - especially trying to get them to stop when you want them to!

Alexandra is right, We don't go and ask to do the canni-cross or husky races without a dog, so dogs should be banned from fell/trail/road races, its an unfair advantage and they get in the way, what would happen if everyone took a dog along, it'd ba a nightmare.
I did a small race last year and two people turned up with these dogs stuck to them, claiming they needed to train for canni cross races, why they couldn't just train somewere else god only knows.....

(dog lover with two dogs, who TRAIN with me !!!)

Oh dear, I was only joking, I never remember to put in smilies (it's my age - we didn't have smilies when I was learning to write with a dip pen and an inkwell full of blotting paper). I really don't want to be jumped on by all the dog loving runners AGAIN. I quite like seeing huge fell runners being towed along behind tiny terriers, and I trust that any dog that bit me in a race would be disqualified, along with its owner. That would teach it!
