Longer commute to work this morning, 20miles MTB on the Ridgeway between south oxfordshire and west berkshire.
Had to take it easy-mid effort because my patella tendon is bad, but much to my surprise knee seems feeling great now.
Nice.
Couple of hours at the velodrome... knee held out, only 'warned' me when I got carried away momentarily in the 32 lap scratch raceNew saddle is a LOT nicer than the old one

55 minute spin sesh last night...bl00dy hard work but great music, I was 'dancing' along:w00t:
I sneaked an hour last night on the rollers then drove to spin early. Out the saddle for 30 minutes climbing with plenty of resistance then 50 min class.
Another 60 mins on the rollers before 2 hr run tonight.
Just about managing to get through an hr in the 53 x 11 at over 100 cadence. Hard work and a pain keep swapping sprockets . Having to use the old chain whip as my new one has flown away.
Daz, any clever ways of getting a sprocket off when it is really really tight? I can't get the one on the disc wheel off
I also couldn't get the one on the bike I am selling off either, but the guy wanting to buy it did... we put a 14 on the back, in stead of the 15 that is stuck on the disc... He rode on 49/14 :-O and didn't seem to mind, so am selling the bike with that gear on now and will buy myself a new 14 sprocket...
My thought is to find a length of pipe I can slide over the handle of the chainwip to increase leaverage?
Hann, you could try PlusGas. I've not tried it, but keep seeing it recommended when other people have this problem.

Did a big fat nothing on the bike/run/pool last week due to my man-flu/virus thing. Been on the turbo for a couple of gentle 30 min spins this week & hope to get out for something more meaningful tomorrow....weather permitting.
My wife's summer holiday has been approved & it looks like I'll be off to do the Alpe d'Huez triathlon this year. If we can get down there a few days earlier we'll be able to see the TdF going up, which has been an ambition of mine for a few years now  .
39km extended commute. Medium-low effort because of fear of knee pain. Seems good.
Had my second breakfast at 9am at work. Now it's 10am and I'm starving again.
That looks interesting Fellrunner! I am going to get that, looks like the ideal thing for stuck on pedals as well!
Gambatte, I live in fear of my knee at the momentConsultant has told me I can't make things worse by riding on it as long as I don't load it... it protests with a sharp pain right under the kneecap when I load it, so I just make sure I don't get that pain... and although the knee is still 'puffy' i.e. slightly swollen, it does seem to feel a lot better after cycling than when I rest it...
The physio doesn't like me cycling while the knee is puffy, as there is still swelling in the joint and that isn't good... so still in two minds...
I have just taken the tap off the physio put on 10 or so days ago, to help stabilising it and it should reduce swelling... and it does look a little better. It also feels better WITHOUT the tape! Weird stuff...
