That'll be fine Stolly. Just don't follow the route exactly as its drawn. It's only a guide.

the 'north-west loop' (CPs 4-10) looks on the map like it's mainly along paths? The triangle (CPs 1-3, 11-12) looks to be the cross country section? bit.

For me, the tricky parts were:

CP2 to CP3 - with the cloud down, and nothing in the way of real paths, it was a slog through very boggy and tussocky ground.

The north west loop you talk about its not too bad, as it is mainly on the paths, remember to stray off the path and up the hill to find CP9 Shackleton Knoll though, its literally just dotted somewhere on the hillside near the top.

CP11 to CP12 - this takes some navigating to find the little trods, again with cloud down, but not too bad.

CP12 to CP13 - from what i gathered, some tend to take various routes here, I was passed a couple of times by people who had gone wrong between these CPs.

Then the last bit is a killer, but its flagged

Ah give over, you'll love it!

But its what fell running is all about, its a really tough race, which in my book, means good!

Thats why people come back to these races year after year, the challenge.
