I guess the one who blew up wasnt the guy in the knee length white socks because he ran it back to Summit as a warm down

Don't tell logue but I gave those young whippersnappers the win on leg 5 ( I wish). Me n logue were only a min of the cr aswell. That explains the pain. Great results n great event. Now where's those photos of me ha ha

Great day yesterday with some great competition in all of the categories. 2 new overall records in the Vets and MIxed and 4 new leg records reflecting the good going underfoot. The results were put on the event website at around 6.00 pm last night, on the results page !......there will be some minor alterations to the results as several teams have reported incorrect times being recorded and Sportident will hopefully sort them out. There is also now a link to the Sportsunday site where you can find lots of pics from the day. No real problems on the day and most people even turned up with the proper kit. I pair needed the gear when one of the ladies fell and cut herself......lots of people think the kit thing unnecessary but if just 1 person out of the 1000+ needed it its worthwhile. I have put a new rule in there for next year not allowing the use of Sat.nav I phone or similar devices in lieu of a map which is what several people were intending to use !.....ok for recording your stats on the day though.
Great to see the legend that is Gavin Bland out and running, good on the Borrowdale lads for making the trip down. Well done to the mighty Salford Harriers winners for the first time, Calder Valley gave a good run for their money though.
Date for next year Sunday 5th February. Entries open online 1st November 2011

Well done Lefty - I can say we all enjoyed our day at BBH. It would be a shame to cut the numbers back - when you get round to legs 3 - 5 it can often be quite lonely anyway so it's quite good to come across other teams from time to time.

Maybe clubs have to be limited to the number of cars per leg? Not sure how it would operate, but perhaps car parking passes for runners and maybe 1 "team manager" per club? I think one of the problems is with "spectators" clogging up the changeover points.

Perhaps identifying "Viewing Points" would be a good idea. There's plenty of options on Leg 1, Leg 2 around Jack Bridge and Blackshaw Head and so on. I travelled the whole way around after finishing leg 1 and saw very few away from the CPs so perhaps people just aren't clued up on where they can watch.

If such a move takes 10 - 20 cars away from each changeover, especially Leg 3 start, then it would help a great deal.

    Re: Pennine Bridleway Relay

I did email out to all of the team captains/managers several times asking them to tell their team members not to spectate at the c/o and also I put a plea on the event website asking people to avoid using the c/o the view the race and to avoid Callis Bridge at all costs......all to no avail seemingly !......cheers for the advice I will keep it in mind for next year.

Thats me with the pipe fungus the bogey...
Good to raise the car issue, we used one car to drop/collect at 3 legs in total so trying to do our bit. Just wonder how successful a mini type bus would be like the ihodg... for this event and/calderdale way? Worth the expt? I know some clubs are trying to reduce car clogging but always good to review eg A and B teams travelling together never mind the extra 20 min quality spectating eg

Does the lack of traffic (pardon the pun) in the car sharing section of the forum reflect how little interest there is in actually sharing.....................?
