I had a mini-bonk today riding home after I'd done an hour's hard work. Probably an account of too much beer last night.

There's a minute or two I've noticed right beforehand of feeling really good, sort of 'floaty', and the pain goes out the legs - they're just turning the cranks like they're someone else's. That's the bonk alert for me from now on ...

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I feel ashamed to have to mention I went to the velodrome again, 3rd time this week... for another 3 hours on the boards... we did 58 miles in three hours, including breaks :-O Yes, 't was quite pacey! Legs are now VERY tired, but the knee hasn't felt this good in months!

Put the gear up again from 88 to 90 today, as I found the high cadence I needed to keep up with the guys on Friday was aggravating my knee. Things were much better on the 90

Good news about the knee Han!

Having the classic having a cold dilemma - easy training or rest??

Not so easy big (for me ride) saturday didn't help much, rested yesterday.

Ratfink, if it is a head cold and you feel like going out, do an easy one... otherwise, rest!

    Dear Uncle Dazzington.

The Paris-Roubaix book, Im considering shelling out the £21.47 amazon requests for the read, but thats like 3.5 hours work for me.

Is it as good as it looks?

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

First time in ages I've ridden to work and back. Frozen feet and hands this morning, much better in the evening. 40km all in, took a bit under 80 min in total including a couple of hundred metres climb each way...

New (to me) omega ti road bike is great, goes uphill like a rocket and is extremely comfy on Sheffield's crappy roads

Al its one of the best cycling books ever made.
Its got some fantastic pictures in it and great reading. Its all there. The pave, troisvilles, arnberg, carrefour etc.
Every rider from de vlaeminck to my hero sean kelly is mentioned.

The hell of the north is without doubt the last of cyclings insane races. Get the book and learn all about it.
