Inov8 Roclite 295s

Wore them round Edale Skyline route last Saturday in terrible conditions, and am finding them a great shoe.

Really comfortable, superb on wet rock (as good as Mudclaws). Not that bad descending on wet grass either.

Ideal l-d training shoe.

(Inov8 been coming in for a lot of stick on here recently, so just to confirm we're not a bunch of moaning old geeezers.)

if it was the Lakes and v dry, I'd consider wearing the 295s for comfort, yes.

But the Mudclaws are much better on steep grass, and as I've reserved my orange Mudclaws for racing only, I'd probably still wear them - now they are well broken-in.

And for muddy Pennines / Peak stuff, the Mudclaws shed the mud much better.

If I go over and do a sky / mountain race in the Alps / Pyrenees etc, the 295s will be the shoe of choice - ran round some trails in the Dolomites in them last year and they were perfect for that terrain.
