    Thanks guys
it was actually Sunday I did it
I set off a bit later than I'd hoped, so was seriously struggling for light coming down off Ringing Roger at the end, but was determined to complete!
was thinking 9 hours, so quite pleased with 9:15 under the conditions
could deffo knock a chunk off on a better day...
I'd maybe go round anti-clockwise next time for a bit of variation...

Starting at Bowden Bridge makes a change too, and avoids any parking charges!

I got to Edale early enough to bag one of the free spaces next to the school up near the Nag's Head - no way was I going to pay the £6 (SIX QUID) charge on the main car-park :w00t:

re Bowden Bridge - the car-park there is £4 (I think) but there's plenty of room to park on the road isn't there?

Does anybody know if it's OK to park for free on the road near the car-park at any time of year (i.e. even on a weekend in summer)...?

Absolutely no problem parking on the road (Kinder Road) near Bowden Bridge at any time. I can't think why anyone would park in the car park. Sometimes it can get busy, but I've never had a problem.

Why not start from the snake side? all the parking is free and get the the big climbs out of the way early on. As Green flash said, I went out with Paul and got round in 8.50 (with a few mistakes), cannot describe how good the first pint of blond tasted afterwards!
