Ha ha ha ha...... I was the one on a romantic weekend break in Cornwall!!

Tim Laney (in his signature shirt) and Martin 'Buff' Beale are part of Bath Bats and I know Martin H as well - not sure which victim they recruited at the last minutes (the hidden 'fourth man'!) but it sure wasn't me!

That's Tim Laney on the right, Martin Humphreys on the left, I'm wearing the orange Runfurther buff behind Martin and on the right at the back is Stuart Walker. Stuart was our very, very late replacement. He was an absolute star: a really solid runner and great company.

We had such a fantastic race and were well chuffed to get our team best (PB).

I think we are going to have to leave our beloved county of Avon to go and recce Bleaklow better. Having said that, I think that our tactical route choice on Bleaklow got us second place this year. We didn't see the Far Back Clough posse after Swains Head.

Not sure which one yet, one of them has some Eryri runners in, so maybe that one?
Course you can, Iain - help yourself. I can email through an original file if there's any problem downloading off the picasa site.

This was a great race, most of all i will remember just how good the marshals were, fancy dress and happy smiling faces, it can make such a difference when you're feeling tired and wondering why the hell you keep doing this kind of thing.

    Many thanks to the organisers.

Out of interest, does anyone know what the total ascent of the HPM is?

It's not the ascent though it's the descent into the bog that gets you.
