Re: Really wild boar fell race

It was a great day out! Thanks to Debbie and Gary. Far too many flags out....

Low key informal race, great route (bridleway was a bit too much!) and a great craiq in the pub afterwards.

Looking forward to next year already

Is this race on this year? Just had a quick look in the calendar and couldn't see it? Having walked Wild Boar last year on a fine day I can imagine a great run

It is a fantastic race so we hope to be able to get back from France to organise the race in September. As soon as we have a date we will post it on the forum.

I may have missed this somewhere, but how far is the race, and roughly how much climbing? I've walked in the area, spent the night up there once, and can imagine it being a good run.

It is 5ml/1400' so is an AS, many would term it a 'classic'.
The climb is all running and the descent is 'interesting', in fact it maybe more interesting than normal as we have not held it in November before!!!

Sorry to pester you, where does it start from? From what I remember of that area, there isn't much habitation around there that's within 2 1/2 miles or so of Wild Boar Fell. I'm curious, I like the sound of this one!
