I didn't do it, but the wife did, she got back to the car and found it clamped, with three thugs waiting in a van next to it demanding £70!

Not sure, but from what she said they weren't interested in talking about it.

I'll ask here when she's back, £70 lighter!

My legs are really aching! What a good run out that was. The hill training's obviously paying off - I was passing people from around Hebden Bridge almost to the end. And a time of 5:20, which I'm really chuffed with.

On the car clamping thing, Haworth is notorious for a private enterprise car park where the owner clamps anyone a second over their time. The police can't do anything as it's all legal. It's in Changegate I think, wherever that is.

Yes, the Haworth clamper. Changegate car park opposite the Edinburgh wool mill just a few hundred yards up from the school. Big TV program about it.

Another great day out. Thanks Brett and crew. It made me laugh seeing Anti dressed as a woman on the corner of Butt Lane of all places. very pleasant chap, didn't know it was me though.

I beat my last years time by 1 minute. OK seeing as I've had a cold all week.

Aye, they were two of them in gym pumps, cheaper than inov8's? Friend of mine spotted someone in Vibram 5 fingers as well, brave folk.

I saw both pumps and 5 Fingers, but only in the first few miles... I tried to imagine what it would feel like across those stony paths if it were me - I'd have crumbled into a heap by the side of the track. The chap in the 5 Fingers was running off the track whenever he could, on the vegetation. And that was only half a mile into the race. Bet they finished though - you'd have to wouldn't you?
