Good to see you too. Just remember that there's always room in your life for a Buff.

Another great day out. Thanks Brett and crew. It made me laugh seeing Anti dressed as a woman on the corner of Butt Lane of all places. very pleasant chap, didn't know it was me though.

I beat my last years time by 1 minute. OK seeing as I've had a cold all week.
    Good on ya Simon !

I really enjoyed time-keeping duties yesterday. Great to see so many friends having fun!

High-light of the day: a mixed pair thrilled with 7hr13secs (they'd expected to be out for 8hr30min+ and were celebrating like they'd won. Lovely to see

    Mr Charters, thanks for advice

Well, how's all the Hobblers feeing this morning? I feel better than I expected to, got round in a bit over 8hrs (I was hoping for about 8) so not too displeased with it. I certainly enjoyed most of the run/walk, apart from Heptonstall and that looooong road climb!
Met some nice people too, so it's all good. How did the guy in the FiveFingers cope with it all, anyone know? I did it in me trusty Wave Harriers, no feet issues at least, for me. Although they seem to have picked up a couple of drainage holes.

I was swindled by the clampers several years ago. I parked my car in an area where there were no lines marking spaces. I came back to find they had retrospectively painted a line behind my car and there was a clamp on it. I had the police out. They knew what had happened but couldn't nail them: it was their (the clampers') word against mine. I had to pay £75 to get it removed.

There are two things I took away from this:

    1. The "security industry authority" has zero credibility. In fact it lends credibility to crims who defraud people out of money.

    2. I am extremely sceptical about Edinburgh woolen mills. The car park crims were in and out of there all the time. Since I am not sure there is a formal relationship, I have taken the precaution of having nothing to do with them.

My first Wuthering Hike. A fantastic day out.
Despite my other half making doom laden predictions about wintry weather, you couldn't really have asked for a better day. I even had to take my top off going up the road to Heptonstall.
Those people who man the checkpoints are wonderful aren't they - backbone of the sport really.
What I'd like to know is - that bloke who shot off the front like a scalded cat going up Cemetary Road - did he win in the end?
