    Re: Today's poet

As we see the back of winter and new life begins........I give you this poem

I am the face in the leaves,
I am the laughter in the forest,
I am the king in the wood.
And I am the blade of grass
That thrusts through the stone-cold clay
    At the death of winter.
I am before and I am after,
I am always until the end
I am the face in the forest,
I am the laughter in the leaves.

I like this MM, is it an original or a good discovery? Reminds me of the greenman.

    I do not know her
    yet I know her
    by her name
    a flowing syllable
    resonant of
    Spring's breeze
    through
    fell heather
    a bounding charm
    of the hare

    I do not know her
    yet I know her
    weaving this thread
    of kindred souls
    with wit and fun
    some of sadness
    yet more of joys
    those jewelled talents
    of eye, hand and mind
    ethcing images of
    celebration, of warmth

    I do not know her
    yet I know her
    "our Hes"
    Happy Birthday Lass

Wow! how many lovely heartfelt offerings have been presented today, great stuff! It has been pleasure to read them all from OW's limerick, Steve's haiku, One's Off's impressive ability to weave the word "sophisticate" into a verse, Mossy's warm gift and I think my fave...Alf's first poem which I loved!!!!!!!! also MG and Masham mans choices were gorgeous...

well...this Hes character must be a bit special I reckon!?

    Evening all!

    Re: Today's poet

    Oops a daisy
    MG in a hurry,
    a flurry, a scurry,
    It's all a bit hazy,
    And seems rather lazy,
    Nothing genius or witty,
    For this fell kitty,
    No birthday ditty,
    Apologies Hes!

Well, I do apologise for my very inappropriate choice of poem yesterday! I had a very manic day and just briefly came onto the PC in between a 17 mile run and a horrble trip to Asda followed by a night out.
I quickly posted it in theme with those poor Japanese folk, and didn't even look at the other posts for Hes birthday and forgot about the important topic that I should have written about! Doh!
I did post a happy birthday on FB though so I didn't totally forget!
Anyway hope you had a fantastic birthday Hes
