Just registered our first runner - nice one Clive; 1st in the 1st ever event - what if you won? Either way I think you can pin that to number 1 to your Tod vest for a Hebden Bridge Times photo.
A few people have asked about helping with flagging - the plan is to meet at White Lion at 14.30, Saturday. split into 3 groups, each taking 5 mile section - back for pint
Hey Steve, good to see you in a proper pub, and number 1, awesome, I guess seriously I am not worthy, but much appreciated, you're a goodun. What if I won......... and then we woke up. Maybe I could win the post race beer consumption, but that would be it!
Hopefully see you Sat, and you still haven't told me when that special ale will be "tested"!
Funny you should say that Andy - tell your mum to rush out and buy the Hebden Bridge Times and Todmorden News - good 2-300 words on backpage.
The headline is HEPTONSTALL FELL RACE - Big turnout expected at "local derby" - Tod Harriers and Calder Valley are both using the race in their grand prix and club champs (which is very unusual in local races as normally 1 club is actually organising the race with most of their runners marshalling). Really looking forward to seeing both clubs top runners competing for team prizes.
When will you be travelling?
Fancy doing some flagging on Saturday pm? - just 5 mile sections
Trig, at present it's still looking like I can get over & lend a hand if required on Saturday, still time for things to change though! Just a couple of questions if that's OK.
1. Would I be able to get parked up before flagging (if camping) or wait until later?
2. How long d'ya reckon we'll be out? I ask for the purely selfish reason of the possibility of watching England / Ireland in the pub (if it's being shown!) afterwards (5pm 'ish)!!
3.Is this where the carpark / campsite is?
It'll probably all change & I'll end up down Liverpool on Saturday - a distinct possibility!
Looking forward to it, looking like 5 from Trawden for the race at present (although prob only me Saturday)
Cheers
At the risk of repeating what's already been said (I can't find the answer to this anywhere else).
Is there going to be any kind of drinks station or is it a case of self-sufficiency being the order of the day?
Steve do you need any marshalling help? I may not be able to run on saturday (injured tankle) and if i cant im happy to help
Hi Tom - sorry to hear about the ankle - hope you can recover in time to run.
If not your help would be great - was just about to respond to Duty Druid - there is plan to have a water station / jelly babies at Lady Royd Farm, Shackleton, on the big ascent from HCC up to Turn Hill (see race map). We many need a couple of people there between about 11.45 and 13.30.
The family who live there said they would bring marhsalls cups of tea!
Anyway lets hope you can run
