I let mounsey have it haha not...just tipping my hat to steve n co for race prep marshalling and gettin the pope man involved at start.. great tuck at the end an great community spirit. Course was as good as last weekend when i reccied but i need to find a way to the trig point as i lost alot of time on tussocks that we re bigger than me. the mist added to the exctement as i was afraid to see how close the field was. Great final ascent too, best way back to hep. Not impressed with the prizes, was hopin for 1st class stamps..kiddin

    Re: Heptonstall Fell Race

Just drained my last glass of fell race ale.....
    Phew what a day
Congratualtions to Ben and Helen on awesome new course records - and commisarations to those in hot pursuit. Fantastic bench mark times for 2012 FRA diary (oh no have I just agreed to do it again??? Don't tell Judi!)
The 1st ever Heptonstall Fell Race was really a huge team effort - a few more posts will be needed to do that properly - but I am proud to be friend / family / club mate / neighbour of so many fantastic people...
Glad you all enjoyed the calf cruncher!
Anyone got a copy of Rev Howard Pask's reading????
Think we have a new signature start....

My Club-mate texted me to say he enjoyed it, but took a wrong turning somewhere (didn't say where, if he knew??)
He'll tell me all about it later

I hope he's still okay for our 'Trunce' recce-run tomorrow? (as they're part of our Clubs 'Grand-Prix' now, & he's not run them before)

    Any results yet?

I saw my mate Tim Midgley in the pics, anyone know how he got on? Can't get hold of him tonight. Looked like he was near the front in the pics

Don't tell the Reverend that you called him the pope's man, I can feel a smiting coming on!!

Excellent race BTW, spot on for marshalling, flagging, route, pre and post race feeding etc...

Pretty sure that you sneaked some extra steps in at the end since the recce, sure it wasn't that hard last time!

Note to the beefy guy with the big rucksack that shouldered past me and several others on the first descent - It's called a Long race for a reason, chill out and maybe we wont all be steaming past you up the first field next time!

Hope it happens again next year
