I'm sort of running Blubberhouses. Missed 3 months of training with an injury, but bimbled round the Edale Skyline on Sunday to get back into the groove. I won't be doing 3:39 this year, but about 4 hours would be fine.

How does it compare to Anglezarke Amble?
I will be there for this one looking forward to the route, hope its as good as the Trollers Trot!

Karen - they're pretty similar. Less road in Blubberhouses. Can be busy with touraids in Bolton Abbey if it's a nice day. Food ok.

very little in way of fell,mainy very good tracks
only rea climb is beamsley,but thats part road.
imagine with past few weeks of dry weather the bogs will be dry,
reckon you coud get away with strong road shoes.
The bogs coming off Round Hill are never dry, they just vary in how deep!! My feet still got wet last weekend.
Been relatively dry the last mont or so - right up until this week so may be boggier again.
I think the real issue this weekend is going to be the high winds!!
Last year was windy too. The route is sheltered all the way up to Thruscross, then very exposed over Rocking Hall moor to Bolton Abbey and you get a lovely tailwind all the way home from Beamsley Beacon.

Hang a right off the A59 after the huge white golf ball thingies (if heading towards Harrogate) and continue for about 4 miles and you will stumble across lots of parked cars near the hall which will be on your left..............
