    Mizuno Harrier

I'm thinking of buying a pair of Mizuno Harriers to replace my Roclite 315s and can't remember what the conclusions were about them on the old forum....

The intention is for them to be used on longish, currently very muddy trail/XC runs rather than for fell running (though I'd be interested to hear what they're like for this too!) and I'm hoping they're at least as cushioned as the Roclites, but with better grip in the mud.

    Any thoughts out there?

Well I was going to buy a pair of 315's. Why are you replacing them?
Re the Harriers- very comfortable and stable. General concencus was they are a winner...

    Bought a pair on sat
Ran 25 miles in them over muddy terrain on sun.

Fantastic.... (but I think they are slightly small...doh)

    Highly recommend these

Got a pair of these Harriers last week, in an online sale from a well known sports shop in Kendal. Ran the Edale Skyline route in them on Sunday straight out of the box. No probs, very comfortable (suit my wide feet!)and plenty of traction in the mud. For comparison I've been using RX Terrains and Gladiators, these shoes will probably still get used for short races but I reckon the Harriers are going to be first choice for training and longer runs.

Dunno about suitability for pub use though. I could imagine they would be OK cornering the bar on a sticky carpet, but suspect you would lose traction quickly on wet tiles, which could lead to disaster where a gutter-type urinal was encountered.

    Thanks for the advice folks.....

No particular reason for replacing the 315s which have been excellent, and unlike other Inov-8s they've lasted really well (over 700 miles so far). I just suspect the Harriers might be better in the thick, slippery mud we're plagued with at the mo - my mudrocs 290's work fine in it but don't seem to last, whereas the the Mudroc 330's are probably a bit aggressive for some of the tarmac stretches on my regular long runs (I also fancy trying something different!)

    Re: Mizuno Harrier

Inspired by these reviews, bought a pair of Harriers last week. Used them today at White Holme - noticed someone else in a pair too - and they coped really well. Cushioned, but stable and with pretty good grip. I got them with LDWA events in mind and I think they'll be perfect. In fact, today the shoes probably performed better than my legs and nearly beat me to the finish.
