There was no sign of anything suspicious but I've heard that before so daren't get too excited. Results due within 6 weeks; the wait begins!

I'm back in the office and have treated myself to a milky hot chocolate and a chelsea bun as a reward for being brave It's ok, I cycled to the hospital so I should be lard neutral
Glad to hear it Stef and you more than deserve your chelsea bun and hot chocolate

Oh Stef - Just got back from my hols and heard the results. Docs will get on top of it and you'll kick it's butt. The hardest bit is the waiting for appointments and tests. Stay positive!

We're all behind you and thinking of you Stef.

    Hi all

I've been to see the consultant:

I have to have a hysterectomy because the cells are at the most advanced stage, have shown no sign of improvement and are at risk of becoming cancerous. It can be done with keyhole surgery though and my ovaries will not be taken.

Get this, my consultant/surgeon has done the Bob Graham Round, he's number 800 on the list. He’s also done the Saunders mountain marathon and The OMM…he knows exactly what I’m up to and understands. How cool is that?

He’s agreed to delay the operation until after my round and The Saunders, and said I should be recovered enough to do the OMM but the short score not the long score. I'm on the waiting list and will have to wait for a theatre slot.

So I guess that mean’s it’s ok then; well as ok as it can be in the circumstances!

    Stef

I have a headache though. Ho hum!

Stef, It is great to have a Doc who understands. I am pleased that there is a positive course of action from 'one of us'. I am sorry that the op has to take place. Keep on keeping on.

Blimey what do you say to that? My mother in law had a hysterectomy several years ago and it was a fairly big op for her, I don't know if times have changed in that respect but she was pretty weak and couldn't lift anything for ages.

I hope it goes well for you and they get things sorted out.
