Marking with Canes / cairns / barrier tape etc etc impacts on other people's experiences on the hills and on the BGR. Having folks navigate for you only impacts on your own experience - this is a big and more than philosophical difference

The great thing about the BGR is choosing the challenge you want to undertake - for some it is solo winter rounds, some do extended rounds, some have navigators - some have lots of pacers, some people hike it in multiple days - the whole point is you choose your challenge- putting markers out (and a lot seem to stay out) is just littering and no BGR attempt justifies that.
