Many thanks to the organisers and marshals. It was well organised. Shame that a marker flag or two may have been 'misplaced'. The advantage of being well back in the field is that you can follow the crowd after the leaders' route-finding error has been corrected.
I thought the garage registration venue was pretty good too - plenty of parking space.

There was a little interference with one or two of the carefully placed flags. I had to chase some young uns up the hill to ask them to desist from their uprooting activities, but I don't think this was why the leading three went off course.

We were lucky enough to be in place when the youths moved the flags, hence Wormstone chased them up the hill and the flags were replaced with apologies. It wasn't as far up as where the other young uns went wrong. The solution will be an extra marshall at the path junction next year and of course to ban the young uns that went wrong from partaking because they are too fast :w00t:

A big thank you to Wormstone for chastising the youths who'd moved the flags above Simmondley. I'll take your advice, and for next year I'll pencil in a marshall for the path junction up in the moorland bit, rather than just relying on flags up there.

Cracking race once more but mixed feelings again for me as it's always a nasty shock after a winter of flat running to coax the legs uphill again. Hoping the legs recover in time for Rivi on Saturday.

Liked the 'Reliance garage' venue. Good atmosphere around those vintage cars and vans.
