Has a Soreen malt loaf got smaller, in these recession-hit times? I'm sure the year before last's emergency ration malt loaf came in at bang on 300g, this one is just over 200g, so now I'll have to get something else to carry round that I'm not allowed to eat as well!

Oh, and a word of warning to any 6 footers taking part tomorrow, I seem to remember last year there was a wire at head height strung across the gap in the wall you pass through before you cross Kingsdale Beck on the way to the check point. I only just noticed it in time and ducked under it, one or two others were caught out.

has anybody got any thoughts on the 'straight across' route from Fleet Moss given the out-of-bounds instruction. Are we safe to use it providing we stay on the south side of the wall along the Oughtershaw Tarn section?
