I think forget the road at the end, that's horrible in anything. I'd go with a mudclaw over a roclite for definite. Lots of scree but also lots of tussock, heather and bog. Some of the early descents will be lethal in roclites.

Go off quite hard, the first 3 hills are quick then the race proper starts but be in the mix at the base of the first pap. From there to the road its a hill walk..

I have worn walshes twice now and had no issues..

Hoping my flights are cancelled and I can still make it up...
