    Watching over those who pass
    Pass through the gates
    Through the gates to heaven.

    Lazing, gazing
up under the lush skirt of Latrigg
No finer river could they be
    No finer place than by
    The River Greta be.

    Or by the slopes
    nestled in the lea

    and stories to tell
Like that one Rev, especially that first verse - caught my imagination particularly.

That would be the Erotic Impulse by D Steinburg I guess. Just read the 'look inside' sections on Amazon - phew!!!! Gonna get me a copy too I think:w00t:

Dreaming of Lakeland and being fast,
Up and down them fells in a flash,
Straight to the pub can't be last,
In case they run out of cumberland bangers and mash!

having a little flight of fancy here as i work into the wee hours.........sigh

    Putting in the seed
    Robert Frost

You come to fetch me from my work to-night
When supper's on the table, and we'll see
If I can leave off burying the white
Soft petals fallen from the apple tree.
Soft petals, yes, but not so barren quite,
Mingled with these, smooth bean and wrinkled pea
And go along with you ere you lose sight
Of what you came for and become like me,
Slave to a springtime passion for the earth.
How Love burns through the Putting in the Seed
On through the watching for that early birth
When, just as the soil tarnishes with weed,
The sturdy seedling with arched body comes
Shouldering its way and shedding the earth crumbs.
