Nice afternoon for a bike ride. So off I went.
37 mile later and after visiting Halifax, Tod, Littleboro and a steady climb up Blackstone edge back to Sowerby and home.
I looked at the garmin to see I've averaged 16.4mph. Loads better than I used to do last year although there was only 2200ft of climb in the route.
Feeling fitter just need to cycle more.
Off to watch the Halfords race in Oldham after tea.
Weather is kind so should be an entertaining evening.

Not been on the bike since Sunday morning... A niggly shoulder (doc says bursitis) became seriously sore in the course of Tuesday, so forwent the crit I was going to race... Had to forego track training wednesday morning, and tonights circuit race hs also been abandoned... It got so bad, I have spent all of today hanging into some pillows on my bed, in a postion that gives the joint as much space as I can give it for the bursa to not impinge... AUCH AUCH auch
Doesn't look likely I will be racing the Etape de la Defonce, a two day stage race for teams I have been looking forward toIt is this weekend and although the shoulder is better than yesterday this time, I fear it may need a few more days of rest
Coachy friend says rest... I am waiting till tomorrow morning before I call our team manager...Hope we have a reserve, otherwise it is no race for the team

Watch it on ITV4 tomorrow night.
Excellent race.
Got to take my hat off to them boys, they go at one hell of a pace.
Saw a couple of high speed spills and they get right back on again.
I walked the course and watche from all different positions.
Cracking finish to the race.
a 20 odd mile XC blast on some skinny woodsy trail with some locals who clearly train more than me... great fun. Certainly more fun that the swimming session this morning, 45 minutes of watching tiles pass slowly by!!
and Wiggo seems to be going well:thumbup:
Quite a dilema for you
Race or Rest. Can you not nip out on your bike today and see how you go. What about lifting your bars up a bit on your bike to ease the pain ??. Flip your stem around ? .
Maybe lower your seat a tad just for this race.
Good luck whatever you choose.
