    Re: Todays Bike Ride

Doesn't sound pleasant Daz... cold and wet...

I was wearing arm warmers, leg warmers and a showerproof jacket last night, as well as full gloves but really regretted not wearing my neoprene overshoes to keep the rain out and my toes warm. My feet were iceclumps when I got home, and it was only an hour!

Rest day today and guess what? Nice sunny evening... ah well, the bike is nice a clean for my race on saturday

Best head for bed, easy hour and a half before work tomorrow, with a couple of 1 minute full out sprints thrown in, to prep myself for Saturday...

Rule #9 / If you are out riding in bad weather, it means you are a badass. Period.
Fair-weather riding is a luxury reserved for Sunday afternoons and wide boulevards. Those who ride in foul weather – be it cold, wet, or inordinately hot – are members of a special club of riders who, on the morning of a big ride, pull back the curtain to check the weather and, upon seeing rain falling from the skies, allow a wry smile to spread across their face. This is a rider who loves the work.

I've rode my bike to work every day for a year next tuesday, only 6m each way but had some grim rides last winter, does this make me a badass?

If it's a road bike yes. IMO of course. You should also adhere to the rest of the rules at all times.

Singlespeed Crosser, just for work and fun, done thousands of miles on the thing and hardly spent a penny on it.

Ah but you fail on a number of the other rules. Maybe you can go to an appeal

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

I think all of us on this thread qualify as badass riders...

Although I did do my pre-race ride this morning on the rollers in stead of the road. I had cleaned the bike last night and race prepped it. Won't get home till about 11 pm tonight from work, so no time to clean the bike and just about enough time to get my training in before work...
