Hi
Does anyone have a copy of the 1979 book by John Tarrant called "The Ghost Runner"? Published by Athletics Weekly I think. Would be interested in getting hold of a copy.

Ta!
this is a tragic yet true and compelling story of a 1960's hero, featured here http://www.globerunner.org/blog/?p=84 (I hope Ive got the link right) I never realised there was a book, I came across him via a Radio 4 play in the 1990's . Unfortunately, I lost my tape copy in a house move. In the blog comments it refers to a new book, possibly coming out in the near future. Hopefully..
alanj - you're quite right - I found this on Amazon - apparently due to be published July 2011.

I'd still love to find a copy of the original book, though!

Fascinating but ultimately tragic story.
No country for old men.
The original book is very hard to come by, but you may be interested to know - and please spread the word about it! - that their is a new book, called The Ghost Runner - the man they could not stop, by Bill Jones, published by Mainstream, that came out this week and is available on line/bookshops etc all over the world.
My husband, Roger (Vic) Tarrant, is the Ghost Runner's son, and has co-operated closely with Bill, using his Dad's running diaries/training logs and correspondence, and Bill has interviewed so many people, and has produced an amazing true story - a great read.

There's an article on him in the latest (September) issue of 'Runners World'
