    Re: Todays Bike Ride

When I still lived in West London and worked in Notting Hill I was pleased when Paul Smith opened a flag ship store around te corner. Often went in to browse, but never bought anything...

Ozwald Boateng is a quality tailor, lovely suits. A bespoke Savile row suit is well on my before I die list.
I also really rate the work of Oliver Spencer at the minute.

First impressions are very good.Oh i did crack in paul smith and purchased a new shirt.
Why not Pro race 3s ? I'm looking to change the stock tyres on my new bike and they were top of my list. Any advice?

Bear in mind i do lots of miles. But the last few sets ive had seem to have worn a bit faster. What happens is over a period tyres get soft. A bit like when you first put them on they can be a nightmare to fit over the rim. Through use they soften and stretch. When they soften they seem to press easier against the tube and lose air as you fly along. The manufacturers will tell you they dont. But they do. Ever had that feeling of your tyres being very soft after a decent ride.I have used pro race 3 s for years. I just think that they are not letting them store for a good while now. Armstrong didnt let his tyres harden over two or three years for no good reason. They are good but im trying the others.Them ultremos are popular, think they do them in pink . Unless your doing a lot of miles i wouldnt worry.

I could also be that i ride on crap roads. But not as crap as doms. I think hann has the smoothest roads.

From what I can tell, the popular choices seem to be Continental GP4000S or Michelin Pro Race 3. I've had both and prefer the Michelin.

£24-75. And they come in PINK

Butyl or latex innertubes Daz ??

Yes they DO come in Pink - although I'm blinging down the pinkness and have the white Michelin Pro 3 (none of those fancy pants gold skewers etc for me!) although they've gone a cack grey colour now.

Saw a nice black/white combo tyre on an event recently and they were the Scwalbe one's - on talking to the guy using them he said he always had the Michelin Pro 3 too but now swears by these - anyone use them? In need of new one's and not sure if it's best to stick to what I know

this may(or may not) have any relevance to the softness bit. a friend of mine who is a keen cyclist and was very good in his youth(National Squad) siad they used to buy tyres well in advance and put them away for a year or two to harden? not sure if this is true, Daz is this possible?
