Hello All,

I've had a look at the Jura website and it looks like there are a myriad of ways to get there and different costs. So knowing a number of you guys have been there done that what is the best way to get there {that includes cheapest,most time efficient}. Also how long do most people stay and how much do the various ways of staying cost { Camping,b+b}. Any help much appreciated.

i'd imagine a b&b would cost around £40-£50 per person per night and camping around £15 per night for two people including a car

You prob wont get a B&B or the Hotel as they get booked up straight away for the race.Camping is free in front of hotel showers and washer/dryer are a £1.Get the Ferry from Kennacraig to Islay,if you take a car its an extra £90 (only valid for 5 days though goes up to 190 for longer) you could take your bike over and it costs £15(bikes free) but i did it this year and wont be doing it next year.

many park up at ardrossan and then get a ticket to islay via arran and mull of kintyre. oddly, buying a return ticket, £30ish, only gets you back to arran. it's another tenner or so to ardrossan. bikes are free - you'll need one. the hopper to jura from islay is a few quid. this all takes a while, usually getting to ardrossan on wednesday and heading back from jura on the sunday.
