Spotted a roe deer and at least two bats this evening - probably more of the latter but combination of darkness and fast movement made it difficult to count (them not me!)

Hey Alf: PHWOAARRR!!!!!
Did a 10km run (plus lots of walking) up Lightside, Yellowslacks then over to Glossop Low and Cock Hill yesterday - I too had loads of big black flies....what's with em? They were mostly congregating on the heather section which at knee depth and quite a few hidden holes made for difficult running for me.
Anyone heading up/coming down Cock Hill from Old Glossop - there's a couple of horses with ponies in the unfenced section of field below the lower tree section - they didn't seem pleased to see me as I appeared so I stuck to the path between the 2 walls.
@ Grouse - I have your PD Wildlife book to return - are you at Chunal on Wed? Barrel - Tues after? or Shelf Moor?

I do that stretch.
Suicidal Grouse
Daft bugger was too busy flapping and making alarm calls to look where it was going, flew into a tree and broke for it's neck.
Hard not to feel a sense of sadness watching it's final fading twitches!
Loads of bats, a badger, a fox and a large deer last night. Oh, and some youfs![]()
