Here you go Ian, a taster of what you missed.

Shelf moor race report. Apologies for the length, I kind of got in the groove and didnt realise that I'd written that much.
The race is long enough to remember most things, not like a massive trog, and not short enough for a concise story.

    Damn good race though.

A very enjoyable race, one of my favourites this year.
Many thanks to all who made it happen, it was a well organised and marshalled event.

Special mention for Lynne and Tim of Global Therapies for the post race massage and raising funds for mountain rescue. Good on ya!

Great blog (again) Zephr (one of your best me thinks). I guess, also, one of the few where you did not have anyone +/- 30 secs in the finishing few minutes to worry about? You've improved so much this summer - well done - what you need now is a gentle recovery before the autumn - how about the 150m at the Padfield Plum Fair Coal Race this coming weekend. Good hill training. OB1

Finally managed to get some photos uploaded - good to see so many smiling faces near the top of the climb to James Thorn!

ShaunP - super close up shots of those smiles & grimaces. Great to see the battle / jostling for M 3/4/5 and for L 1/2 up the JT climb.

Thanks OB1. Looking back on it, the first race I did up here was herod farm, Jules was 11th I think, I was 26th. This time he was 9th and I was 12th. Certainly going in the right direction. As for a recovery run, I believe I already did that. It was the walk from the car to the pub to join you and Carl!

Shaun, can I nick a couple of those photos for the blog please?
and for the record, I was smiling for the 200ths of a second that the pictures were taken, the rest of the time I was a panting, sweaty, hill climbing mess.

ian, shame you couldn't make it. i think you have a rival for kit check now, especially if Tim can scare someone enough they drove home!

Cracking race, what a fell race should be. I don't think I was smiling at the top of the climb! Thanks to all the organisers, marshalls and helpers. Well done to Kerry on winning the ladies race on the first real Fell race she has done.
