    Re: Todays Bike Ride

After the Ben race on Sat and the Chevin fell race on Wed I went for a steady 40miles tonight then a brutal spin class. Strength work.
Was tired after that so went for a Creme Brulee Latte at Starbucks. 14 mile run last night and my legs feel very tired.
Afraid to say Toffer the bike didnt get washed
    oh eck

My crosser is still dirty from a few hours trundling around the Peak District bridleways...

I did however do a hillclimb on a very clean roadbike last night... 2nd overall (by one second :-O) 1st lady and I did it again on my foldup bike, on which I was 3rd!!! I won a bottle of ale and am happy

Just as well I didn't clean that crosser

6 hours of playing in the mud and it is now even worse

Needs hosing down at work tomorrow!

Was a good ride, even though I had to adapt and improvise my planned route because of high winds... When I rode over Gospell Pass it was so windy, I nearly got blown off. It also started raining heavily and the clag came down, so not safe to ride up onto the ridge! Managed a decent bit of off road in the lee of the hills though, with road sections to connect them. Last really big ride before 3 ppp cx and considering the fact that I am hungry but not tired, I don't think I have to worry about endurance!

    Re: Todays Bike Ride

50miles for me very early this morning. Wind was bowing hard making my return journey hard going.

Then a full strip down of the Rourke. Everything off it and a full service. Bottom bracket out and the cups as well. Oiled the BB bearings which is good practice. Its been 4 months since I last stipped the BB out. So if you aint taken yours out for a good while I can promise you it will be full of dirt etc.
Stripped and cleaned and rebuilt in about 90 mins.
Probably £80 at Evans and the like.

    Ah Merlin
Thanks Dom. That Record Titanium looks nice.
Trouble is now if you dont buy Ultra Torque its the new Powertorque 11 speed which means about £6000 for the bloody chain tool and puller and other tools you need.
Im after a ten speed ultra torque groupset. Chorus would be fine
