[QUOTE=Don't fear the sweeper;432685]The wind turned out to be not too bad, but still felt like I'd been in the washing machine.

Thanks to all the marshals for waiting for me!]

We had a grand day out!
And didn't quite manage to sweep you up - so nothing to fear today!

And we must mention the hot soup, tea and fantastic home-made cake courtesy of Wynn. Made it all worthwhile!

This is a superb Lakeland Classic AM course, as good - if not better - than the other traditional AM races. Up to Seathwaite Tarn, Grey Friar, Swirl How, Coniston Old Man, Dow and White Pike. Excellent organisation, free soup, cake and hot drinks at the finish. Please look out for this race next year, mark it down, as the course is superb. Conditions weren't easy today, so thanks to all the marshals up high, and especially to the organiser for starting this race. We are the lucky ones - there at the beginning!

The race is in the latest Fellrunner Calendar Update, it's on the FRA website, lots of fliers were given out at Duddon. Please "pencil it in for next year", it's a superb course in every way.

I'm amazed it only got 11 runners. I have vehicle issues at the moment, otherwise I'd have definitely been there. The course looks a classic, the setting superb and the venue perfect with campsite and pub nearby.

I'll be there next year (hope the small field doesn't put off the organiser)!

    Turner Landscape

Second running of this gem of a race from Turner Hall Farm in the Duddon Valley this coming Saturday, 11th August.
A good forecast, so I think that I will base myself there for the weekend.
    Should be a cracker!
See you in the Newfield Inn.

Great weather - what a contrast to last time! With success and failure in the Olympics measured in fractions of a second it seems surreal that I was 32 minutes faster than last year despite a slightly longer course.
