no apolagise for repeating this post from the torch light thread, it was so good I had to post it twice....

Dark Peaks Second "winter torch run" last night... Awesome. I ran in a vest and shorts, no thermals, no wind proof!(In my bumbag of course). 2 hours 20 over Fairbrook to Kinder Gates across to Red Brook a rain down to Mermaids pond and back over Kinder to the Northern edge, down the other Red Brook and along to Lady Clough. 28 out last night.
The sky was really clear, more so than usual and the Milky way was emblazened across the sky. one of my best night runs ever

Hardly ever post in here but yesterday's run was so good I thought I'd have to!

15 miles / 6000 ft - started from Pen-y-Pass up the Pyg track to Snowdon and then back down the same way (only because I wanted to see how fast I could do it in - 1 hour 30 mins there and back), then up from Pen-y-Pass straight onto Glyder Fawr, down to the top of Devil's Kitchen then along the ridge over Y Garn, Foel Goch, Mynydd Perfydd, Carnedd y Filiast and finally Elidir Fawr, before running down into Nant Peris. Legs bloody ache now! Took me just over 4 hours.

Ankles were sore this morning so a day off running,
64 lengths instead, havent swam for ages and cruised to 64 and ran out of time. Most I seem to remember is struggling to 70. might have a crack at 100 next week.

2nd rehab run (on treadmill) of 15 minutes, working hard on good form and forefoot landings, almost silent compared to chap on next machine. No soreness or twinges, happy? You bet. ;-)

Another beach loop tonight, even wetter than Tuesday though. Shoes were squelching after the first 2 miles. Squelched for another 8 or so with some (road) hilly bits and finished strongly, which was an unexpected bonus. That'll do now until Sunday's Sandstone (apart from a leisurely pedal tomorrow night).

The seafront and the bars were bustling tonight. Most enjoyable running along and soaking up the holiday atmosphere.

Good club run last night, bit short with folks trying to get back before it got dark. Hopefully both clubs I run with are now on the hills for head torchers this winter, bonus

Sounds brill. I used to do a similar kind of thing when out Paddy B training. Llanberis to Snowdon then over Cryngorion and Moel Elio back into LLanberis. Up through the quarries to Elidir out to Filliast then back over Perfedd and Foel Goch and belt down into Nant Peris. Bus back to Llanberis. A great day out.
