Last time I looked at their website they were debating whether to move the race to the end of April or October/November time due to land owners permission issues. I'd really like to do it as a warm up for the Lakeland 100 but if they decide to go with October then it won't be much use.

only hard fell runners do the fellsman, speaking as a graduate of last years novice class!
The majority of people doing this mix a bit of jogging with walking; hard buggers probably run most of it, and some people walk it all, so it's hard to call it a race, really. It is for the elite few, but for most it's a personal challenge I think.
A cracking event though, and proof of the amazing human ability to forget pain, and look back to the past through rose-tinted spectacles!
Its one I'm thinking of doing next year , I've heard a lot of good reports about it just waiting to see when it is going to be held.

They don't appear to have paid their website bills
entries don't open until Jan 1st, regardless of no date having been fixed - yet.
The website is back up, but there is no mention of a date yet.
The Fellsman will take place on the weekend of 28th/29th April 2012 - perfect as a training run for the Lakeland 100!
Good, much better option than October. Can't wait.
