I am sure David Bedord of 118 fame came in just before Eddie.

Not sure this is the right thread for me to respond about Ennerdale so I'll post a reply about that on the Ennerdale thread. Glad to hear the training has started in anger. You'll definitely be under 2 hours on the Ben.

Bloody Hell Marvin - how can you say you havn't started training for the Ben when you've just done Ennerdale!! I reccyed that last year and it nearly killed me!
That sort of mileage and terrain will put you in good stead for the Ben - I bet you will get under the magic 2 hrs this year

I'm touched by your confidence in my abilities. The Ben is much more of a sprint than Ennerdale, particularly the descent, and I'll have to do a lot more hard work on that.

    Re: The Ben Race

If anyone wants a tip for Ben training then try the middle assent of the Tebay race. Whilst it's grassy it is very steep and very l o n g. So why not try up and down about 4 times ~ that should get the muscles a good workout.

Jebby was seen (in the Tebay race this week) running up the top part of it ~ fit lad even broke the record.

    Re: The Ben Race

my problem is i cannot replicate the steep ascent down here, i will just fling myself down after the top hopefully
its just the uphill i cannot train for
just do as much as i can , the thought of a kiss from my wife will keep me going until the end

How's the Ben training going Tomsk ?

(thought I'd better bring this thread back to the first page again.........interest seems to have slowed ~ hope that's not the case for everyone's training).

Mapper, only 8 weeks to go!! training going well as you may have noticed yesterday on the club relay nav leg. Beat you by 3 secs !!!!!! You obviously went the wrong way round.

C'mon you Ben Race forumites how is the training going. Do we have any drop outs or more late confirmed entries. Let us know. Lets keep the thread at the top until at least race day
