Thanks Ian but i am sneaking away tonight well in about an hour but ssssshhhhhhh
i think i go down road to Harry farm?? then up down to Grassmere across road just below High Broadrayne?? then follow stream up Tongue Gill to tarn take left path up the BG route to Post along to Helvellyn
then down below high crags to Church
cross road up wet bit towards high Raise (where we ran) then below High White Stones i think then to Stakes Pass??
i will then drop down to ODG get hammered sleep in motor home set off day after to up Rossett Ghyll to then Esk Hause -Scafell Pike about face down to little narrowcove - cockley bridge up to Old Man down Wet side edge to stone (for me that will be a nervous time ) then i am lost where how do i get back to ODG or have i got it wrong?

That is right, from the stone go down the road (yes, honestly) and when you approach a wall on the right you will see a trod on your left that becomes an obvious path up the left side of the tarn. This is parallel with the road "Side Gates" and will take you to the cattle grid as the top of the zig-zags leading down into Great Langdale. Cross the road, follow the path down and across a couple of fields back to NDG

I recently met a chap from the forum from Rossendale area, (wish I could remeber his name?)on a beach near Sennan in Cornwall wearing his 2011 OCT tee shirt. it was a good reason to have achat about fell running whilst sitting on the beach wishing you were up in the hills running.

Sorry, I shall have to complain to the webmaster again - I'm not receiving notifications of PMs. Just about to email you, but from your comments, looks a bit late.

    Thanks Ian thanks Marv,
set off from NDG down old road over to grassmere, then as dropping into grassmere turned an ankle (good one) probably running too defensively trying to protect bad leg, its a long long road!!
but when we got in to grassmere the Beer festival was on Hic hic so all was not lost took me 45-50 mins to get to grassmere was aiming to hit hellv in 2.20 to avoid cut offs, is that about the right times?? will have another go in a few weeks.
i have a question, at tongue gill do i take the bridleway ie the left path that's is steeper but cuts back?
Thanks for the GPX i will get somebody here to get the soft wear
