Oh well, better luck next time
This Sunday starting and finishing at Ripley Castle. Probably my favourite road race. Nice country lanes and plenty of hills plus the best goody bag around. Anybody else doing it?
Yes I'm in, 2nd time for me.
3rd time for me, definitely a good 'un. Great atmosphere as well. Hoping for sub 65 this time, but might be a big ask
See you there

That would be some going Rob. My best on a flat 10 is 65 minutes. On this course it's 70 but I think I'll be 2 or 3 minutes slower than that on Sunday. You're right about the atmosphere - it must be the shared pain on those hills. It's also very quaint to finish in the castle courtyard.
Ran it for the first time last year as a tester race. I wanted a sanitised race as my first come back race after a 6 month lay off following surgery.
I didn't run it fast obviously but I suprised myself by really enjoying it. Didn't think I'd enjoy a road race. Tracks, little back country roads, big hills, scenery, friendly and a damn fine goody bag. To top it off we got married at Ripley Castle and so ending in the courtyard there was quite nice for us.
I'm booked in again for this year. Not well at the moment so don't expect a good time but still looking forward to it.

Great time on that course Rob, unlucky on not going sub 65. I ended up not running in the end. I've been struggling to shake off a calf strain and as it seemed to have got worse after running on Thursday I decided not to risk it. Pretty cheesed off after seeing the weather this morning. Must have been a nice run.
