I was going to do Dunnerdale next week but having never done an organised event before I've no idea what to expect.Can I just turn up on the day ?Will I need my bumbag ?Is the route well marked or will I have to map read ?I know to the experienced, these probably sound like daft questions but I know your a friendly bunch.Cheers
Post 124 on this page http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/showt...ll-Race/page13 asks much the same question but to recap, yes, enter on the day, bring bumbag and full kit, there is a map on the Black Combe FR website with the route and checkpoints, unless you're at the front there should be people to follow, but don't count on them being correct. Most of all enjoy it, it's a fantastic race.
Is the map on the BC website to scale, so if i save to a word document and print it off and then stick it in a big suffice ?
The map on the website should suffice, (if indeed it is a Harvey map at 1:25,000) or you could transfer it off onto an OS map and fablon it, should be fine.
