Lombardo is a fantastic drummer, oh the glory years when manchester apollo was a proper thrash venue. Slayer in 87? with nuclear assault, celtic frost with destruction in 88?....metallica (when they were good ) with anthrax in 86?....happy days.

    Re: Sabbath

Only decent two drummer footage I could find from my previous list, Dale Crover with (i think) Coady Willis

Can't not mention one of my faves, Mac Mcneilly

and they may be a bit wuss for this thread, but Seb Rochford is one of the best in the uk today (last seen slumming it as a sessioner for Brett Anderson) the only drummer I'll travel to see if the band is shit

Oh don't try that old one DT! "I know it's a funny smell officer, but it's only patchouli, honest". It never was, not in my case anyway

    2 drummer bands?
Friendly Fires in recent times, and Genesis used 2 live (Collins and Chester Thompson). Oops, sorry Iain, missed your post!
What year did Buddy Holly die? Was it 59? Was probably filling my nappy at the time (so whats changed I hear you all say!!)
Eavesy, the rise of Punk was exciting as it coincided with when I went to Uni. It was the quality musicians who managed to ride on its coat-tails that really made it good. The Blockheads were probably the tightest band I ever witnessed....fantastic rhythm section and Dury was a rivetting show-man.

I'm sad I was too old for the rave years. that looked like fun!

    Re: Sabbath

I saw The Go! Team at a festival a few years back and I'm pretty sure they had two drummers. They were still a bit rubbish. I've also seen/heard/suffered Aphex Twin using a food blender in a set. On the "tightest" band theme I'd go for Talking Heads... their live 'The Name of this Band...' album is awesome. And for guitar hero, I'd go for Johnny Marr... the way he sounds on prime-time Smiths stuff is something else.
