    Hello Chaps,

Just a quick update from the TdeH organiser. Entries have been coming in steadily and so it looks like it will fill up in the next week or two. So, if you want to enter please do so now.

Anyone who has sent an entry should have received a reply, with confirmation of entry by now, so if you think you have missed out please drop me an email.

Re. accommodation. Apparently, The Queens at Askham is www.queenheadaskham.com and not .co.uk as per original info. Also, www.fellfoot.com is the recommended hostel in Penrith, but I'm not sure how many places there may be.

Lastly, I hope to meet many of you enjoying a beer, or fruitbased drink, in The Queens after a great day out, and putting some names to faces and forumites.

    See you at Askham.

    Joe

    Hello,

    Just another update:

Apparently, Fellfoot hostel in Penrith is closed for December, so old un's recommendation of The Clifton Hotel must be the cheapest, most local accommodation available? Other accommodation provider's are available . ..

    Re: Tour de Helvellyn

I had a training run round the loop part of the route the other day, with the Dunmail to Patterdale section in the dark. It was also very misty, and the section from the top of Raise Beck to Grizedale Tarn made me realize I need to recalibrate my pacing. But earlier, when I was going up to the Sticks Pass, I realized that contestants might wish to view the conditions there just before the race. The Lake District Ski Club has a webcam at their 'ski resort' on Raise. It's not running at the moment but will be accessible via their website: http://www.ldscsnowski.co.uk.

Don't Fear the Sweeper - thanks for your post. Will check out the webcam nearer the time.

What was it about the section from Raise Beck to the Tarn that made you think you needed to re-evaluate your pace?

Also, how long did you take to do the section and which bits were runnable?

Thanks in advance for the info

    Cheers
