You def dont want your deep section wheels on at this time of year.
My cosmics have just come off and my campagnolo eurus ones have been put on.
The best wheels for winter are in my view Zondas. They are bulletproof.

Im hoping to purchase some new deep sectioned wheels early in the new year. Not sure yeat what to buy?.
Might go back to running tubulars.
    Been a few years.
Planet X had some real good bargains on recently.

Totally agree about the Zondas... I've got a set that are eight years old now and still going strong. That included converting them to tubeless with a Stans Kit last year for cross.

New wheels wise, have a look at Strada http://www.stradawheels.co.uk/

I've tested both their Carbon 88mm tubs and their Velocity A23 winter/training wheels.. both blew my away. You get to speak to the guy who's building your wheels, get a truing for life guarantee and a very nice set of ti QR skewers.

Yes the strada wheels look pretty goodId seen them on the here come the belgians site.Have to say ive had my mavic cosmics now over four years and after thousands of miles they are still bang on. I had one spoke tightened up at mercian ages ago and thats all ive had done.Tonight 100 minutes on the rollers. 1 hr in the 53x13 then the dreaded 1 min off , 1 min on flat out in the same gear. Managed 15 reps then just rolled out the remaining time. That was hard. Had to resort to 100 x classic sixties hits on the i phone.Incidentally not found the here come the dutchwomen website. Now have my here come the belgians kit, so i am truly a paid up member

Yes geronimo the cosmics are brilliant wheels but deep sections in high crosswinds are not great. Yes you can handle them but they just make life a bit difficult. But as deep rims go they very reliable. There is so much choice nowadays and wheels have come a long way.
