Haworth Hobble route tomorrow with AndreaS, Steve and Mrs.C. Making early start from Langley so as to get round in good time and make the best of the daylight.

I'm going to do a Leg 1 recce on 19 Dec in the morning (say 9ish). OH shopping in Keswick and will pick me up from Threlkeld. Would welcome all-comers for a bimble over Skiddaw and beyond.

I'll be out this coming Wednesday for a good day in the hills... I'm thinking park at Dunmail, leg 3 as far as Esk Hause, then on to Allen Crags and Glaramara, down in to Rosthwaite sort of area, back up over Ullscarf-ish and probably down to Wythburn, then back up to Dunmail. Something like that anyway. Will happily do something else if anyone's up and about with recce plans.

Not sure that's quite the word I'd choose! Knee-deep snow and blizzards blowing in meant a tactical retreat at Calf Crag, dropping down in to the valley and heading back across the south side of Steel Fell... that very short round took over two hours. Bad times.

Yes it is. Looks like the wind is dying down a bit. I suppose ice could stop us once we're up there, but we're planning to go up anyway. You've got to be mad to be in this game at all - what me worry? Last minute weather review this evening, so watch this space. Expect sub-zero winds, so dress up warm chaps!
