    Re: Lakeland 50

Done the 50 a few times now (twice).
Never used the free camping dont intend to next year.
Also hoping to avoid using the free bus from Coniston to Dalemain
Intending to eat only my own grub.
will be driving home ASAP after finishing despite the superb atmosphere

Even so, its still worth the money - top top event.

    Re: Lakeland 50

I've entered this one and restored some symmetry to 4 years of participation - L50, L100, L100, L50. I don't want to melt the candle from both ends next year and exercised some restraint. I look forward to actually having the energy to run the rocky trail beside Haweswater once again.

I agree bestathlete, it is a top event, certainly this year (I did have one or two reservations in previous years, now not applicable).

Can some one tell me, if we get the map and route booklet at registration, how I can recce sections without knowing the detail? I see you can buy last years map/booklet, but whats the point if I get one as part of my entry?

I'd email the organisers if I was you. They're pretty good at getting back to you, or go on the site's forum and ask.

There used to be route info in the members' area, but I take it that's gone then.
