Good Luck guys!...have a nice day!!![]()
Was sat in a hospital bed for most of today (having been re-admitted with pericarditis) thinking about the race. Hope you all had a great time and looking forward to reading the reports.
Thanks to all those involved in organising today's event - fantastic, really enjoyed (particularly the spicy parsnip soup at the end). Tough going thru the snow up to Sticks Pass & somewhat past Grisedale tarn, otherwise a cracking day out!
Hear hear. Although I actually enjoyed most of the snow that climb up to Sticks Pass in the cloud went on for ever. I used up the last of my strength running down from Boredale Hause, & the last bits were a real struggle for me - and a number of others I think. A brilliant day out. This really is one of those special events. Thanks to everyone who helped, & if anyone found my blue anorak I left hanging up in the gents, I'd like it back!
Results are up already!
What a great day out, I think this is going to become my annual end of year race. loved everybit especially descending Sticks pass out of the the cloud!! Happy Days !!!:w00t:
What a disaster!
No, not the Tour which, due to good organization, spectacular conditions, challenging course and good company, was my favourite event of the year together with the Saunders. There was one micro-disaster out on the route though – I’d bought some walking poles and couldn’t understand how to attach the baskets so set them aside for later, only to forget. This meant the hoped-for support on the deep stuff over the Sticks Pass wasn’t there.
The disaster occurred when I got home. Arrived home tired. Upstairs to run a bath, downstairs to prepare chilli con carne to eat while soaking in the bath. Upstairs again holding the rather hot dish with fingertips to minimize the burn, stumble on a step, dish flies up in the air and cartwheels past me down the stairs, spraying every step of the newly-fitted light-coloured carpet as it went. After initially wondering about just taking a photo for the insurance and having my bath, I rushed for the Stain Removal A-Z booklet: no chilli con carne entry, no tomato entry… ah! ketchup. One and a half hours later the carpet looked reasonable again, as far as my colourblindness can tell. Time for a bath…
Oh bad luck: could have happened to anyone knackered after that run though. The good news: Joe's phoned & he's got my anorak. Good news for me that is...
Well done all who got round yesterday. We bumped into Fellgazelle who was re-fueling in the George and he said Mrs Stagger and Hank had good runs![]()
